EV1 Clears Key Regulatory Milestone for Chikundo Copper Exploration
Evolution Energy Minerals Ltd (ASX: EV1) has received the necessary approval from Tanzania’s Mining Commission, allowing the company to proceed with the next phase of preparations for drilling at the Chikundo Copper Project. The approval allows the company to complete contract negotiations with one of three shortlisted drilling contractors, all of which are wholly Tanzanian-owned.
The shortlisted contractors were evaluated on key operational factors, including safety standards, drilling experience, equipment capability, and on-ground management support. By engaging locally owned contractors, EV1 aims to strengthen its commitment to local participation while ensuring economic benefits remain within Tanzania. The company will now finalise the drilling contract before confirming mobilisation and drilling timelines. The maiden reverse circulation drilling programme is expected to test four identified copper targets at Chikundo, marking another milestone in EV1’s broader strategy of advancing its Tanzanian critical minerals portfolio alongside the Chilalo Graphite Project.
