Lithium Universe Secures Funding to Advance Brownsville Refinery Plans
Lithium Universe Limited (ASX: LU7) has secured firm commitments to raise AU$0.9 million through a placement to existing sophisticated and professional investors, reinforcing shareholder confidence in the company’s long-term strategy. The capital raising will be completed in two tranches, with the second tranche subject to shareholder approval. Investors participating in the placement will also receive attaching options, while the company intends to seek ASX quotation for those options following the required approvals.
The proceeds will primarily strengthen working capital and accelerate key growth initiatives, including completion of the Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for the Brownsville Lithium Refinery Project in Texas. Funding will also support the advancement of the company’s silver extraction photovoltaic recycling technology and gold-copper diamide extraction projects, broadening its exposure to critical minerals and recycling opportunities. Management noted that continued backing from existing shareholders reflects confidence in the company’s development strategy and commercial potential.
Lithium Universe aims to establish a stronger presence in North America through its lithium refining strategy while simultaneously developing innovative recycling technologies for valuable metals. The Brownsville project complements its broader objective of addressing the region’s lithium conversion capacity gap, positioning the company to benefit from growing demand for battery materials and circular economy solutions over the longer term.
