Locksley Resources Reshapes U.S. Exploration Strategy Amid Antimony Price Weakness
Locksley Resources Limited (ASX: LKY) has revised its U.S. critical minerals strategy following a detailed assessment of its exploration portfolio. The company has stopped field activities at the Desert Antimony Mine and El Campo prospects after determining that existing exploration results do not provide sufficient geological scale and continuity to support further substantial investment.
The strategic decision also comes amid a sharp deterioration in the antimony market, with spot prices falling more than 57% from approximately US$63,000 per tonne in mid-2025 to US$27,000 per tonne.
Despite suspending exploration, Locksley intends to retain its existing U.S. claims at a relatively low cost, preserving the opportunity to reconsider these assets if conditions become more favourable. Additionally, the company is assessing its DeepSolv™ hydrometallurgical collaboration with Rice University. The revised strategy enables Locksley to conserve capital and direct resources toward opportunities with stronger commercial prospects.
