New Hope Corporation Caps FY26 With Higher Production and Strong Cash Generation
New Hope Corporation Limited (ASX: NHC) finished FY26 on a strong operational footing, supported by increased production across its mining portfolio. Quarterly ROM coal output rose 11.3% to 4.7 million tonnes, while full-year saleable production reached 11.5 million tonnes. Coal sales increased 11.8% year-on-year to 11.8 million tonnes, surpassing the upper end of the company’s guidance.
Improving coal prices provided further support, with the average realised sales price increasing 10.7% from the previous quarter to AU$155.8 per tonne. Quarterly underlying EBITDA advanced 30.1% to AU$169.3 million, while FY26 underlying EBITDA totalled AU$514.3 million.
Bengalla recorded an FY26 FOB cash cost of AU$81.3 per sales tonne, reaching the lower end of guidance. Meanwhile, New Hope generated AU$564.1 million from operating activities during FY26 and held AU$778.5 million in available cash at the end of July.
