Stocks in Focus

  • IperionX Limited (ASX: IPX) — AU$3.520, up 6.990%
  • Catalyst Metals Limited (ASX: CYL) — AU$6.600, up 6.796%
  • Predictive Discovery Limited (ASX: PDI) — AU$0.847, up 5.937%

Three ASX-listed resources stocks attracted strong buying interest on Monday. The broader backdrop was supportive for the two gold names: gold futures rose 0.4% to US$4,437.3 an ounce in Friday night's US session, and Australian gold equities were widely expected to open the week higher. Each company also carries a distinct set of recent developments — an expanded credit facility, a rising institutional stake and a ramping US titanium operation — though in each case the underlying announcements pre-date Monday's session by anywhere from three days to seven weeks.

Catalyst Metals doubles its credit facility

Catalyst Metals rose 6.80% to AU$6.600. The move followed a week in which the gold producer announced a materially larger funding buffer — though notably, the shares fell 4.33% on Friday 14 August, the day the announcement was released, closing at AU$6.18 from AU$6.46.

On 14 August 2026, Catalyst Metals confirmed that its revolving credit facility would be expanded from AU$100 million to AU$200 million, while the financing term would increase from three years to four years. The increase takes effect at financial close. HSBC joins existing syndicate lenders Westpac, National Australia Bank and Société Générale, and will also join Westpac and NAB in providing hedging facilities. Other terms, including the interest margin, financial covenants and security arrangements, are broadly unchanged. The facility remains fully undrawn. Combined with AU$331 million in cash and bullion held at 30 June 2026 and no debt, the enlarged facility lifts total available liquidity to AU$531 million.

Catalyst has framed the additional capacity around its multi-mine growth strategy at the Plutonic Gold Belt in Western Australia, where it has doubled reserves to 1.5 million ounces and is bringing three new mines into production using existing infrastructure.

Helikon lifts Predictive Discovery stake above 12.8%

Predictive Discovery advanced 5.94% to AU$0.847. The company disclosed a change of substantial holder notice in mid-August showing that Helikon Investments and associated entities had increased their combined voting power from 11.7981% to 12.8310%.

The disclosure shows that the substantial holder’s position increased to 633,865,060 fully paid ordinary shares, from 577,241,407 previously, lifting its voting interest to 12.83%. The change was recorded on 7 August 2026. The increase followed a series of on-market transactions between 30 April and 7 August 2026, including purchases made at prices between AU$0.61 and AU$0.9250, alongside a sale of 1,700,542 shares at AU$0.9793 on 17 June 2026. The most recent disclosed purchase, on 5 August, was 2,200,000 shares at A$0.7038.

The notice was lodged and disclosed roughly a week before Monday's session, so it is better read as context for the register than as a same-day catalyst. Predictive Discovery’s combination with Robex brings together the Bankan Gold Project in Guinea and the producing Kiniéro mine, with the merged group targeting annual gold production of more than 400,000 ounces by 2029.

IperionX advances its US titanium platform

IperionX gained 6.99% to AU$3.520. The titanium and critical minerals developer released its June 2026 quarterly report on 30 July. The company maintained round-the-clock operations at its Virginia facility during the quarter, while HAMR™ systems continued to ramp up. Production was focused on supporting customer qualification activities, engineered product programs and direct titanium powder requirements.

HAMR™ powder consistently met or exceeded Grade 5 quality parameters. Production volumes were, however, temporarily reduced during the quarter by furnace downtime and maintenance; the issue was resolved with the equipment OEM and operations returned to their regular ramp-up cadence. IperionX maintains its target of an annualised run-rate of approximately 200 tonnes per annum of titanium powder by the end of CY2026.

Downstream capacity also expanded. A 300-tonne, six-axis SACMI powder metallurgy press completed site acceptance and commissioning in May, increasing existing powder metallurgy capacity threefold. Installation is also underway for the first of two additional HSPT™ sintering furnaces.

Meanwhile, the US Government-supported Titan Definitive Feasibility Study, completed in June, outlined an after-tax NPV8 of US$813 million, an after-tax IRR of 39.4% and a 3.6-year payback period.

The project is forecast to generate US$1.9 billion in after-tax free cash flow over its initial 14-year mine plan. Separately — and distinct from Titan — IperionX completed its acquisition of the Camden critical mineral, real property and infrastructure assets on 1 July 2026 for total consideration of approximately US$3 million. The assets sit adjacent to the Titan Project in Tennessee and include land and mineral rights, mineral leases, surface mineral stockpiles across roughly 70 acres, approximately 180 acres of near-zero-overburden mineralisation, and existing industrial infrastructure.

Two further items post-date the quarterly: on 7 July, IperionX priced an underwritten US public offering of 2,275,000 ADSs at US$21.98 per ADS, raising gross proceeds of approximately US$50 million; and on 3 August, the company announced a proposed redomiciliation to the United States alongside a board appointment.

The bottom line

Monday's moves sit against a supportive commodity backdrop rather than fresh company news. The most recent company-specific development among the three — Catalyst's expanded facility — was announced on 14 August and initially met with a share price fall. Investors weighing these names should treat the underlying announcements on their own merits and timelines rather than as explanations for a single session's trading.Note- All data presented is based on information available at the time of writing.Disclaimer for Kapitales ResearchThe materials provided by Kapitales Research, including articles, news, data, reports, opinions, images, charts, and videos ("Content"), are intended for personal, non-commercial use only.
